The data we collect about individual depends on their role, for instance whether they are a doctor whose details appear on our website or whether they are a colleague, patient or carer providing a rating or opinion about a doctor.
When you visit our website to add a rating or review we collect data about the doctor, medicine or nursing home but we also collect your Internet Protocol (IP) address, that is a string of numbers unique to your computer that is recorded by our web server when you request any page or component on our website and your email address. We also collect any of your personal data that you include in your review. You permit us to include that personal data in the reviews published on our website and, if any of that data is sensitive personal data (for instance about your mental or physical health), you give us your explicit consent to include it in the reviews published on our website.
If you are a carer who visits our website to add a rating we collect information about the doctor, nursing home or medicine but we may also collect personal data about the patient or the doctor’s colleagues if it is possible to identify them from the information you give to us. Therefore, please when writing any review, do not to identify the patient or any other individual except the subject of the review.
If you are a doctor who visits our website and wishes to provide information about yourself, we collect the personal data that you provide.
If you contact us to report a rating or posting or to object to any content on our website, we collect the following data about you: your name and address, any other information that we may need to check your identity, and any personal data that you provide in any emails/correspondence.
When you visit our website (in any capacity) we log your Internet Protocol (IP) address, that is a string of numbers unique to your computer that is recorded by our web server when you request any page or component on our website. We use this to receive and send information from and to you over the internet and to monitor your use of our website.

We use personal data about people who add ratings, reviews and opinions to verify their identity, to ask them to confirm that they want their rating and review to be posted on the site, to alert them to new ratings and reviews about their care, and to investigate any actual or suspected misuse of our website or breach of the law.
We also publish on our website any personal data about the reviewer included in any review submitted to us.
We use personal data provided by doctors themselves to help verify and assess the ratings and reviews on our website and to assist us to keep information up to date, and to correct any inaccurate or misleading information.
We use the personal data about doctors (but in a form which does not identify individual doctors) to provide Primary Care Trusts and other healthcare organisations with aggregated information about doctors in a specified location or locations.
We use personal data about employees of our customers to provide services to our customers and to alert them to new services.
We may also use personal data to monitor the use of our website and to record traffic flows.
When you give us personal data, those data may be sent electronically to servers anywhere in the world and may be used, stored and processed anywhere in the world, including countries outside the European Economic Area. Personal data about doctors – their name, address and specialty, ratings and opinions provided by patients, carers and colleagues – are made available to the public via our website.
We may pass the names, addresses and specialties of doctors to our information providers to allow them to correct and update their information.
We may pass data about doctors (but in a form which does not identify individual doctors) to primary care trusts, other healthcare organisations and to government or government agencies.
We may pass your personal data to our data processors. Some of these may be located outside the European Economic Area.
We may also provide your personal data to anyone who buys our business or business assets.
We may pass any personal data to the law enforcement agencies, the Information Commissioner or the courts.
We may pass personal data about any doctor to the General Medical Council.
Except as set out above, we will not disclose your personal data unless we are obliged to do so or allowed to do so by law, or where we need to do so in order to run our business (for instance where we outsource services or other people who process data for us).
